Hagley Ramblers Scout Group currently consists of the following sections:
Beaver Scout Colony has recently re-opened and is open to
both boys and girls.
Hagley Cub Pack meets once a week during term time. The Pack has
a membership of 36 cubs and is currently full. We operate a waiting list, open to all boys
and girls between 8
and 10 years living in the area. We aim to promote outdoor activities, and during the lighter nights, many
Pack
nights take place in the countryside around the hut such as Clent Hills, Hagley playing fields
etc. Winter activities tend to be based in the Scout Hut.
Scouts also meet once a week and, like the cubs, are rarely in the hut
during the Spring and Summer terms. The Troop currently has 20 scouts, and is slowly building up its numbers, possibly up to
36 depending on availability of leaders. The troop is also open to Girls and
there is an emphasis on outdoor practical skills, and having
fun.
Hagley Rambers Scout Fellowship, a group of adults (many of whom
are parents) who actively support the Scout Group and who are members of the
Scout Association.
The Group has also hosted Bromsgrove District's Jamboree on
the Air (JOTA) radio station on many occasions in recent years. Callsign
GB2BDS is operated by Scouts who hold an amateur radio license and members
of Bromsgrove and
District Amateur Radio Society. For more information on JOTA, please e-mail jota@bromsgrovescouts.org.uk
Coming Soon: Hagley Ramblers Scout HQ will be the main venue for Bromsgrove District's third Explorer Scout unit
